Get Involved

There are several ways that you can get involved with our organization. One important way is through business sponsorships.

The Annual Giant Pumpkin Regatta & Festival - This annual event is in partnership with the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC) and the VT Giant Vegetable Growers Association.  The event happens on Columbus Day weekend in October at the Burlington Waterfront. This event raises funds for the youth leadership PILOT program that LLL runs with the LCRCC. In the past, it has been attended by over a thousand people and also featured on MSNBC, SNL, and Sports Illustrated Craziest Competitions.

Sponsorships are available at different levels.  Depending on the level of sponsorship, your business could compete in a pumpkin race and your business name or logo will appear on all event advertising, banner, press release, and live announcements at the event.

We also look for many volunteers to help us on the day of the event. Students can receive community service credit for helping out.

Specific Programs & Activities - Perhaps your business is interested in hosting student interns, presenting in the classroom, or helping a young person make it to college. If a certain program peaks your interest, why not help support it? We specialize in workforce development, college access, and community service. Your sponsorship will enable us to reach more Vermont youth and access more resources for them.

  • Be a business presenter - If you're interested in engaging students in interactive activities that highlight your organization and career field, you should consider visiting a classroom. Contact Lindsey Lathrop, (802) 951-8849.
  • Be a mentor - Interested in mentoring but not sure of the program that fits your schedule? Our Mentors for Kids program is a one-hour a week commitment where you meet with your mentee on school grounds. Contact Megan Johnston, (802) 951-8848.
  • Host an intern or job shadow - Open your business or organization to a young person that is interested in your field. Contact Lindsey Lathrop, (802) 951-8849.
  • Employ a LLL student - Have a job opportunity for a young person? Many of our students have received job skills training and have additional support behind them.
